Run North West are delighted to bring you the Alderley Park Summer Trail Race! Entries will open in 2024, please keep an eye on this page and our announcements through social media and email.

Starting outside the impressive Glasshouse building, this race is a 2-lap course over 5-miles within the hidden grounds of Alderley Park, taking in the beautiful woodland, impressive lake, the working farm and the picturesque grounds.

Whether you’re looking for a new challenge or a sociable jog in the fresh countryside air, join us and enjoy a trail race through the hidden grounds of Alderley Park.

Please note this is now an annual event and we won't be repeating the winter edition due to the risk of cancellation for icy conditions.

Course

The race is a 2-lap course over approximately 5 miles within the hidden grounds of Alderley Park, taking in the impressive lake, the working farm and the beauty of the grounds. Whether you’re training for a new challenge or looking for a sociable jog in the fresh countryside air, join us and enjoy a trail race through the hidden grounds of Alderley Park.

Closing Date

We will close entries as soon as we reach our limit or on Midnight the night before the race.

When the race sells out, we do not operate an official waiting list for this event, nor will there be any entries on the day. Please enter ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Eco Water

In a conscious effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we have introduced a bring your own water bottle (pre-filled) to place at the finish area for the end of the race.  The finish area is the same point as the start and the tables will be clearly labelled. Completely optional, but every person who brings their own bottle of water is helping to save the planet one small step at a time.

Alderley Park are kindly providing compostable cups and water at the finish for anyone who needs it.

If you enter your mobile number in your race entry sign up, you will receive a text message as you cross the finish line with your results.

Transfers

Transfers can take place until Midnight the night before the race. It is imperative that you do NOT give your number to someone else.

Prizes

Presentations will take place straight after the race for top 3 male and female finishers based on gun times. Vet prizes will be sent out in the post and based on chip times.

All prizes are equal for male and females, they will be awarded to the top 3 finishers as well as the first Vet in all age groups from V35 to V80+ in 5-year increments plus the first U20 (one prize per individual, male and female).

There are bike storage areas at Alderley Park, SK10 4TG.

Public Transport

The closest train stations/tram stop (on foot) to Race HQ is Alderley Edge, which is a 2-mile walk away (or warm up). Wilmslow train station is 4.5 miles from Race HQ.

Where possible please car share 🚗 to ease congestion, traffic and help save the environment 🌍!
There is ample FREE parking within Alderley Park, please follow the directions of the marshals when you arrive. The race booklet will have the instructions on what to do on arrival to Alderley Park.
